The Goldilocks Effect



For those born post-interwebs, ‘Goldilocks and The Three Bears’ is a delightful 19th century fairytale about a cute, blonde girl who breaks into the home of Momma Bear, Pappa Bear, and Baby Bear. She steals their food, falls asleep in their beds, gets caught, and still somehow escapes a pack of apex predators before going on to live happily ever after - despite committing a felony. If you don’t believe us, Google it 😉


Apart from the underlying message that if you’re cute you can get away with a lot of shit, the other theme throughout the fairytale is that -


TRUE SUCCESS USUALLY EXISTS SOMEWHERE BETWEEN TOO MUCH AND TOO LITTLE.

We apply the Goldilocks Effect to everything we do. Whether it’s nutrition, fitness, work, rest, play, money, fame, sexy times, or anything else. We definitely don’t want too little of what we crave - and actually need. We also don’t want too much (despite what you’re probably thinking 😉). We want just enough to maintain balance.



Anything extreme can’t last. Extreme diets, extreme exercise programs, and extreme lifestyle changes are necessary under extreme circumstances. We’re talking life threatening health problems and zombie apocalypses NOT improving the REST OF YOUR LIFE. There’s no question extreme measures work… FOR A SHORT TIME. Sound familiar???
